Legion 5 Pro 16"

This thing weighs 2.7kg. It's not exactly a featherweight you'd carry around all day without noticing. The screen is 18 inches, which is pretty big for a laptop, so expect it to take up a good chunk of your desk space.

What's Inside

You're getting an Intel Core Ultra 7 265H processor and an NVIDIA RTX 4080 GPU. That's a lot of power, so if you're doing demanding stuff like video editing or playing newer games, this should handle it. The 16GB of unified RAM is decent, but for heavy multitasking or some of the really high-end games, you might find yourself wishing for more. The 4TB SSD is a huge amount of storage, so you can load up on games, movies, and whatever else without constantly deleting things.

Display Details

The 18-inch screen uses Mini-LED technology. This usually means better contrast and brighter whites compared to standard LED screens. The refresh rate is 60Hz. For general use and most productivity tasks, 60Hz is fine. If you're a serious gamer who needs super-smooth motion, you might notice this isn't the fastest refresh rate out there.

Connectivity

You get a decent spread of ports. There's an HDMI 2.1 for connecting to external displays, Thunderbolt 4 for high-speed data transfer and display output, a MagSafe port for charging, a USB-C port, and a USB-A port. That should cover most of your peripheral needs.

What It Means for You

The 4TB SSD is a big deal if you download a lot of large files or install many games. You won't be constantly managing your storage space. The Mini-LED display should make watching movies or looking at photos more vibrant. The combination of the Intel Core Ultra 7 and RTX 4080 means this laptop is built for demanding tasks, but the 60Hz refresh rate might be a bottleneck for competitive gaming.

Usage Notes

Given the 2.7kg weight and 18-inch screen, this is more of a desktop replacement than something you'll casually slip into a backpack. Make sure you have enough space on your desk for it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this run the latest games smoothly?

The RTX 4080 GPU is powerful, but the 60Hz refresh rate on the display might limit how smooth the game appears. You can always connect an external monitor with a higher refresh rate.

Is 16GB of RAM enough?

For general use, web browsing, and office applications, 16GB is plenty. For very demanding professional software or some of the most graphically intensive games, you might notice limitations.

What's the deal with "Unified" RAM?

Unified RAM means the system and graphics processor share the same pool of memory. It can be more efficient for certain tasks but is not expandable.

How many colors can I get this in?

You can choose between Space Gray, White, and Dark Green.

What kind of ports does it have?

It includes HDMI 2.1, Thunderbolt 4, MagSafe, USB-C, and USB-A.
