MacBook Pro 16" M4 Max

At 1.5kg, this 16-inch MacBook Pro isn't exactly feather-light, but it's manageable for something packing this much hardware. The weight is distributed pretty evenly, so it doesn't feel like a brick in your bag. You get a choice of Silver or Space Gray, which are standard Apple colors. No surprises there.

What's Inside

This machine has an Apple M4 Max processor. For graphics, it's listed with an NVIDIA RTX 4070. That's a combination you don't see every day. You get 24GB of Unified RAM, which means the system and graphics share that pool. Storage is a 2TB SSD, so it should be quick for loading files and apps.

The Display

The 16-inch screen uses an IPS panel. The refresh rate is 240Hz. That's pretty high for a laptop display, meaning motion should look very smooth. This could be good for gaming or fast-paced video editing.

Connections

You've got a decent selection of ports here. There's Ethernet for a wired network connection, an SD card slot, a USB-A port, and an HDMI 2.1 port. It also uses MagSafe for charging.

Features Explained

• 240Hz Refresh Rate: This means the screen updates its image 240 times per second. For fast-moving content like games or sports, this can make things look much smoother and more fluid than a standard 60Hz display.
• 2TB SSD Storage: A 2-terabyte Solid State Drive is a good amount of space for most users. It also means your files, applications, and operating system will load very quickly compared to older hard drives.
• NVIDIA RTX 4070 GPU: This is a dedicated graphics card. It handles visual tasks, which can speed up things like video rendering, 3D modeling, and running demanding games.

Usage Notes

Keep the vents clear to prevent overheating, especially if you're pushing the M4 Max and RTX 4070 hard. The MagSafe charger connects magnetically, so don't yank the cable straight out if it gets snagged – let the magnet do its job.
